Sonoran Desert Poster

by Paul Mirocha
SONORAN DESERT is an 18” x 24” poster
that celebrates the beauty of the Sonoran Desert through its inhabitants, as painted by Paul Mirocha.
While people live in the desert too, this print focuses on animals and plants,
revealing a world of secret events that you must be in the right place at
exactly the right time to see.
The poster is printed on cover-weight paper with
a matte varnish using offset lithography and is ready to frame. ($20.00 including shipping.)

Pollinators Poster

Pollinators are important and they are stressed out. Even if you
don't know exactly what a pollinator is, you need this poster. Pollinators are
IN for interior decor. The North American
Pollinator Protection Campaign and Co-evolution
Institute have been using my Pollinators painting in their campaign
to raise awareness among humans about these essential and beautiful beasts. Yes,
pollinators are our friends.
Update: NAPPC has run out of these posters. I have only a handful left. Just send a 20.00 check to my address, which includes postage and handling. I'll send you this 28 x 24 inch poster in a cardboard tube. Or Write me. –PM
Plant Folklore Posters
Singing Down Roots: Plant Folklore of the Sonoran Desert is a set of posters or broadsides originally commissioned by the Arizona Humanities Council as part of a traveling exhibit on desert plants as characters in oral traditions of Southwestern Indian Tribes. Orininally published in 1991, there are but a handful of these posters left. All are 22 x 35 inches, offset printed in duotone on cover weight Mohawk Superfine art paper.
These posters each feature a short essay by an expert from the culture depicted about a plant character of their choice, along with a story, song or poem in both English and the native language, and a graphite pencil illustration by Paul Mirocha. Most of the expert consultants were members of the particular culture that originated the story or poem and each poster is a gem in its simplicity. Several of the writers have since passed away so this is a little piece of history that is coming back to light on this web site.
Please contact Paul to purchase a single poster for 20.00, or the whole exhibit set for 100.00, plus postage. For more information and larger images, see the post on my blog.
